Welcome to my website where you can find out more about me and my passion for all things in the natural world
I have been writing, painting, photographing and broadcasting about the countryside for over 40 years. The beautiful and often surprising wildlife to be found has fascinated me all my life and it is my greatest pleasure to be able to share this.
I have published hundreds of articles and written several books over the years and have now embraced the 21st Century by publishing one of my books onto Kindle! More will follow in the coming months!
“Mammals, Reptiles & Amphibians of the British Isles”
Hi Dennis,
I want to talk to you again re those austrian/corsican pines in finemere wood.
The BBOWT warden has just told me that corsican pine is a sub species of austrian pine [or the other way round?]. This forestry commission have recorded them as corsican.
The BBOWT warden asks me to ask you how you tell the difference?

Just arrived home from Croatia and great pleasure to have met you properly, Dennis, after our brief encounter at RSPB North Bucks meeting in April 2018. By the way, there as one hoopoe seen on the way from the yacht to the airport!
Look forward to reading the new book. Keep going.
